“As a family nurse practitioner I love that I get to see the entire family as it allows me to develop a better understanding of the needs of the entire family across the lifespan. I like to incorporate alternative medicines in my practice as well as subscribing to conventional medicine. I believe in preventative medicine and empowering patients to be knowledgeable about their health.”

Biography

Jessica Kovolenko graduated from Goucher College with honors in 2000. Her first job after graduation was with Johns Hopkins School of Public Health working with 3 different HIV populations. This was where she solidified her desire to go into the healthcare field, and decided to go to nursing school. After graduating from Johns Hopkins in 2004, she worked for 11 years in the ER at Howard County General Hospital. In 2015, she finished my master’s degree at Georgetown University and was able to move from the hectic ER to primary care. In primary care, she feels like she has been able to be in a collaborative relationship with her patients to develop a positive treatment plan.
